Just lost $200 on a 'professional' LED mask that fried after two uses

I bought this fancy looking LED mask online last month, thinking it would be a great add-on for my clients. It arrived, looked okay, and I used it on myself twice to test it. The second time, it just stopped working and started smelling like burnt plastic. The seller won't respond to my emails. Has anyone found a reliable brand for these that actually lasts?

Ugh, I read a beauty blog that warned about cheap masks overheating.

Yeah, iris_rivera44 is right about the overheating. I saw a teardown video where the cheap ones use terrible wiring and no real heat sinks. You basically want a brand that lists the actual LED wavelengths and has a medical device certification, not just a fancy website. It's a total minefield out there.

Actually, I've had the opposite experience. My cheap mask from Amazon has been fine for months, no heat issues at all. It feels like some of the fear about overheating is way overblown. As long as you don't use it for hours straight, most basic models seem totally safe.
