Reading an old textbook from 2005 and the advice on sun protection was way off

It recommended SPF 15 as sufficient for daily wear, which seems wild now. Found it in a box of stuff from my first esthetics class.

SPF 15 is still fine for daily use if you're mostly indoors. The science on UVA protection has improved, but the basics haven't changed that much.

Remember finding my mom's 90s skincare book that said tanning beds were safe in moderation? Makes you wonder what we're getting wrong now that'll seem crazy in another twenty years.

Honestly, that 2005 textbook sounds like it came from a simpler time. Back when we thought SPF 15 and a light mist of sunscreen was a solid plan. Makes you wonder what my current 50 SPF will look like to someone in 2045.
