Shoutout to learning the hard way about DIY skincare

I used to mix apple cider vinegar and water for my skin, thinking it was the best. After a bad reaction and reading up on pH balance, I realize it was too harsh. What's a gentler alternative you guys recommend?

It's just skin, not chemistry class.

Ever looked into using leftover rice water? It's super gentle and actually has a pH that's pretty close to our skin's natural level. I just rinse my uncooked rice and soak it in water for 20 minutes, then strain it into a spray bottle. It's a really simple toner that doesn't sting or upset my skin at all.

Actually, using uncooked rice water can leave starch on your skin which might clog pores. It's better to use the water from cooked rice that's been cooled down, or rinse the uncooked rice really well first.
