Showerthought: why does everyone skip the patch test

I had a new client come in last Thursday for a lash tint, and she mentioned her last esthetician never did a patch test. I asked around my group chat and it seems like half the estheticians I know just ask about allergies and skip the 48 hour wait. That freaks me out because I had a reaction to a common dye back in 2019 and it took two weeks to calm down. Are we really all just trusting people's word over a tiny spot behind the ear?

Wait have I been the one skipping patch tests this whole time? Reading this made me realize I've been way too casual about it, definitely gonna start doing the 48 hour thing now.

You telling me I actually read the instructions for once? Patch tests are one of those things where you skip them and then wonder why your face looks like a tomato the next morning. I did that once with a new vitamin C serum and had to hide in my house for three days. Better safe than sorry, honestly.
