I dropped $250 on a new hoof stand that ended up being a total pain to use

It was a fancy aluminum one from a big catalog, supposed to be lighter and easier to adjust. But the quick-release lever kept jamming, and the foot plate was too slick, so the hoof would slide. I had to go back to my old steel stand after two weeks of fighting with it. Has anyone else had a bad experience with a specific tool they thought would be a big upgrade?

Sometimes you just need to break in a new tool and get used to its quirks.

Totally agree! My new blender was a nightmare at first, but now it's my favorite kitchen gadget. You just gotta push through the weird phase.
