That time I lamed a horse with a single bad nail

Now I check each nail's path before driving it in.

That guilt must haunt you every time you pick up a hammer.

It took me a while to get past similar guilt. When I messed up a project years ago, every tool reminded me of that failure. What helped was setting small, new goals with each use. I focused on fixing one thing at a time until the guilt faded. How do you handle those tough memories?

Oh man, I get that feeling. For me it's less about tools and more about certain roads on my route. I took a turn too fast once and a whole stack of boxes went flying. Now every time I drive that street I just cringe. What helped was kinda what you said, just trying to nail the perfect stop at that same house each time. Those little wins start to cover up the old mess up.
