Tired of my old filing method ruining hoof balance

I switched to filing hooves in a different sequence last week. Now the angles are more even, but I'm going through files twice as fast. Is it just me, or does better work always cost more?

Yeah, that rings a bell. I changed my sanding technique on wood projects last year. The surface came out glass-smooth, but I burned through sandpaper sheets like crazy. Ended up spending more on supplies even though the quality was better.

I find using lower grits longer saves sheets for me.
