I finally gave in and tried asymmetrical hemlines
Always thought uneven skirts were just a runway gimmick nobody actually wore. Then a friend made me try on her midi dress with the high-low cut at a thrift store last weekend. It actually moved way better than a straight hem, made my legs look longer too, has anyone else been converted by trying something you hated in photos?

Moves way better than a straight hem" is exactly why I ended up loving mine.

@jana_hernandez The movement is definitely nice but people get that wrong about curved hems. They think it's just for looks but the real point is that straight hems pull tight across the hips when you sit or bend. A curved hem just drapes better without bunching up. You probably noticed that yours doesn't ride up as much as regular shirts. That's the part most folks miss when they buy one. It's more about function than fashion.

The high-low hem is basically the only skirt trick that actually delivers on what it promises. Straight hems always look stiff and awkward once you take two steps. A good asymmetrical cut hides hip curves while showing off your legs from the best angle. It's like magic until you try to fold it for laundry, then it's a nightmare.
