Just tried a 3D pattern drafting app after years of paper and my mind is blown

The digital version let me fix a sleeve cap error in 30 seconds that would've taken 20 minutes to redraw. Is the tactile feel of paper still worth the huge time cost?

My grandma did paper patterns for 50 years and never complained about the time. The new app is faster, sure, but calling paper a huge time cost feels like making a problem where there wasn't one. People sewed whole wardrobes before this tech existed. Maybe we just get impatient now and blame the tools. That sleeve cap fix is convenient, but it's not like the old way stopped anyone from making clothes.

That's the classic tech trade-off, speed versus feel. You see it everywhere from digital books to online banking. The old way's charm often loses to pure convenience.

Sometimes the charm was just bad design we got used to.
