PSA: My linen pants split right before a client meeting

I made these custom linen pants for a big client (was so proud of them, honestly). But I skimped on the seam allowance to save fabric (bad move, I know). During the final fitting, the inner thigh seam just gave out. Had to cancel the meeting and start over from scratch. Always double-check your measurements and don't cut corners, folks.

Oof, been there. I started using a heavier thread for my linen seams, it just holds up better. Makes a world of difference for something like that.

Ha, good call @allen.cole. I just used regular thread and my last project fell apart. Guess I learned that the hard way.

My old Singer manual actually said to use fine thread on linen. I tried a size 40 cotton for years with mixed results. Switched to a 20 weight last month and the difference in seam strength is real.
