Saw something at the airport that made me rethink pockets
I was stuck at O'Hare for 3 hours and just watched people. Everyone was constantly patting their jeans or digging in their jackets for phones and boarding passes... it looked so frantic. I used to think external pockets ruined a garment's line, but now I'm sketching designs where the pocket is the main feature, not hidden. Anyone have examples of functional pockets that actually look good?

Oh man, that's a great point about the coat. I gotta say though, I think calling it a fishing vest style is a bit off lol. Those slanted chest pockets are more of a classic field jacket or military design thing. They're super handy.

My friend got a raincoat with huge slanted chest pockets, almost like a fishing vest. She can fit her whole Kindle in there, and the diagonal lines actually make it look more stylish, not bulky. It completely changed her airport routine because she just drops everything in those pockets instead of using a bag. I used to tease her about it, but now I'm looking for a similar coat.
