Shoutout to the tailor on 5th Ave who saved my silk dress after a coffee spill.
The stain was huge, but she used a vinegar trick and hand-stitched a tiny floral patch over it. Anyone else had a disaster turn into a cool design feature?

Different strokes and all that, but I actually think that kind of patch makes a garment look cheap and thrown together. A well-done repair that hides the damage keeps the dress looking elegant and timeless. Those visible fixes just scream "my outfit fell apart" no matter how cute the star is.

Oh my god, my friend ripped the knee of her favorite jeans right before a date. She was so bummed, but her mom had this idea. They cut a star shape from an old band t-shirt and ironed it on with that sticky backing stuff. It looked so intentional and cool, like she bought them that way. She gets compliments on them all the time now.

That's way better than my usual fix... I just slap some duct tape on the inside and hope no one looks too close. The star is a solid upgrade from looking like you lost a fight with a lawnmower.
