The week my whole collection got wrecked by a surprise rainstorm
Honestly, I was putting the final touches on my spring line for a small show in Portland. I had six pieces, all with this delicate silk blend I spent months picking out. Last Tuesday, I was carrying them from my studio to my car in garment bags, and out of nowhere this crazy downpour hit. I mean, it came out of a clear blue sky. The bags weren't waterproof, just the cheap plastic kind, and everything got soaked. The colors ran together and the fabric puckered in the worst way. I had to start over from scratch with only three weeks left. Ngl, I almost cried right there in the parking lot. Has anyone else had a project totally ruined by something stupid like the weather?

Ugh, "clear blue sky" downpours are the worst. I once tried to save a houseplant from a surprise storm and ended up slipping and dumping the whole thing on my own head. Did you manage to salvage any of the fabric at all?

My quick rinse with cold water saved about half the yardage, surprisingly.

Yeah, waterproof garment bags are a must now. Try soaking the rest in cold water with a color catcher sheet, might save some.
