Unpopular opinion: I spent 6 months drafting patterns by hand before switching to a digital cutter, and the difference in precision is like night and day.

The hand-drafted sleeve for my wool coat project had a 1.5 inch variance between the left and right pieces, while the digital file cut from the same pattern was perfect on the first try, so has anyone else made a similar switch and what was your biggest time-saver?

My friend Sarah was making a wedding dress and her hand drawn bodice pieces just would not line up. She spent a whole weekend trying to fix it. When she finally scanned and cut the fixed pattern digitally, it was spot on and saved her from starting over. She said the biggest time saver was not having to constantly re-trace and re-pin every single adjustment.

Wait, scanning fixes the pattern? I thought it just copies it.

Saw @dakota_king3's friend save her dress with a digital cutter too.
