Why does nobody talk about binder clips for holding fabric layers?
I was struggling to keep multiple fabric layers in place while cutting. Then I grabbed some binder clips from my desk, and they worked better than pins for thick stuff. What do you use for tricky cuts?

I tried binder clips on a satin blend last week and they left permanent dents along the selvedge. For me, they're way too harsh on anything that isn't super heavy like denim or canvas. I still keep a box of quilting clips around for slippery layers because they spread the pressure out. Maybe it's just me but I've had way more fabric ruined by metal clips than by any pin.

Binder clips messed up my silk once too, lol. I switched to plastic hair clips for light fabrics and they've been great. No more dents and they hold slippery stuff just fine.

My silk survived binder clips just fine, maybe Caleb got a bad batch. People stress too much about dents that wash out anyway.
