Just realized my brother's nagging about fence line checks was right

I always thought his double-checking of string lines was just slowing us down for no reason. Then we had a job where I rushed and didn't do it, and the whole run came out with a slight bow. Having to pull out and reset those panels changed my mind fast, and now I never skip that step.

Man I had that happen building a deck for my dad. Totally eyeballed the ledger board level cause I was in a rush. Whole deck looked fine until you stepped back and saw it ran downhill just enough to notice. Spent the next weekend with a jack and shims fixing it, felt like such a dummy lol. Now that little level check is the first thing I do, no matter what.

Yeah, concrete pour for a small pad taught me the same lesson. Spent so long getting the forms perfect, then got antsy and poured before checking one last time. Whole thing's off by a tad and I see it every single day.
