My cousin in Denver said my kombucha looked like pond scum and now I can't unsee it.

My buddy brought his homemade kombucha to a barbecue last summer. His aunt took one look at it and asked if he was serving algae from his fish tank. He said the whole batch tasted like shame after that. It totally ruined the drink for him for months. Some comments just stick in your brain and change how you see things. Now I always pour mine into a mug so I don't have to look at it.

Yeah, that aunt's comment would totally ruin it. My friend made this amazing carrot soup once, really smooth and bright orange. Her brother came in, looked at the pot, and just said "baby food" in this flat voice. She couldn't eat it after that, just poured it all out. It's wild how one offhand line from someone, like your buddy's aunt @charles_black24, can completely rewrite how you see your own stuff. She still makes soup, but she never makes carrot.

Yeah, I just started calling my kombucha "science tea" first...
