My old way of spotting fake reviews was just a gut feeling, now I run them through a free tool called 'Fakespot'
I used to just look at a product page and think 'these five star reviews sound weirdly similar, must be fake.' Last month, I pasted a link for a gadget into Fakespot and it came back with an 'F' grade, saying over 70% of the reviews were likely fake or paid. It was a total eye-opener. Has anyone else found a good method for this kind of AI slop in shopping?

Totally get that. Fakespot changed how I shop too. I used to just skip products with a ton of five star reviews posted on the same day. Now I run everything through it. Had the same thing happen with a coffee maker last week, got a D grade and it flagged all the "life changing" reviews. What do you do when a product gets a bad grade? I just move on, but it's frustrating how common this is now.

My friend's mom bought a blender with an F rating last month.

Fakespot is good but it's not perfect, a coffee maker I checked got an A and still had some weird reviews mixed in. You're right to just move on from bad grades, but sometimes I dig a little deeper into the low rated ones to see if the actual complaints are real or just bots fighting each other. It's a jungle out there with all these fake reviews, but at least we have tools to fight back now.
