A laser level gave me perfectly straight rows on my hardwood install

I was laying hardwood in a long hallway and struggled with keeping rows straight. Setting up a laser level on a tripod saved hours of measuring. What's your favorite tool for keeping lines true?

my first few rows looked like a drunk toddler did them before i got one of those. that laser level basically saved me from myself.

Ha, that drunk toddler line is too real. I've been there, fighting with planks that just won't line up. So when you used the laser level, did you have to adjust it a bunch as you worked down the hallway, or was it pretty much set and forget? I always wonder about the practical stuff, like dealing with doorways or weird angles. Seems like once you get the hang of it, it must be a game changer for keeping everything straight.

Set it up once at the start and it was good for the whole run, victor_roberts29. The real trick was just making sure the tripod was on solid ground so a bump didn't knock it. Doorways were fine, I just laid the planks right under the laser line and trimmed the last one to fit. You still have to pay attention, but it stops you from creating a slow curve across the room like I did on my first try.
