Honestly, I never appreciated my old boss until I had to deal with a micromanager on this vinyl job.

Tbh, his hands-off style let me focus on getting the floor right without constant checks.

Yeah that line about the hands-off style letting you focus... I used to think a boss checking in all the time showed they cared. But after my last project where someone hovered over every single cut, I totally get it now. It just gets in your head and you can't actually think about the work. Makes you miss the bosses who just trusted you to do your job.

Read an article about this. Called it "trust tax." Every time a manager checks in, it costs the team time and focus. Like asking for updates during deep work. Kills flow. The good bosses set clear goals then get out of the way. They know you'll ask for help if you need it.
