I finally tried a full spread of adhesive versus just dabs on a glue-down vinyl plank job

The difference in sound and feel was huge. The floor I did with the full trowel spread in a Denver condo last month is solid as a rock, while the one with dabs has a hollow spot that clicks. Has anyone else made this switch and noticed it cuts down on callbacks?

Actually, "glue-down" vinyl plank is SUPPOSED to have a full trowel spread for exactly that reason.

A full trowel spread on vinyl sounds crazy to me.

Look at the mess a full trowel spread makes. It's overkill for a rigid plank that barely moves anyway. You end up with adhesive squeezing up through the seams forever. A few strategic strips of double sided tape holds it flat without the permanent headache.
