Laid the perfect threshold piece for my bathroom today after practicing on scraps. Feels great.

Isn't a threshold just a piece of trim? Practicing on scraps seems like a lot of effort for such a small job. Most folks would just install it and move on without all that prep work. Does it really need to be perfect when it's mostly hidden under the door? Still, glad you're pleased with how it turned out!

Notice how this happens with all kinds of small fixes. People slap on caulk without cleaning the surface first, then wonder why it cracks in a month. Or they skip sanding before painting a trim and get a rough finish. Even if a threshold is mostly hidden, doing it right means it lasts longer and looks better. I see this 'good enough' attitude everywhere, and it often leads to more work later. Kinda funny how we think we're saving time but end up with half done jobs, lol.

My last threshold looked so bad it made @riverg75's point for me.
