I was sure those floral foam alternatives were just hype

Tried a cornstarch-based one for a wedding arch last weekend and it held up better than the green stuff in the heat. Anyone else switch and have a brand they trust?

Actually, the green stuff is usually phenolic foam, not styrofoam. Styrofoam is a brand name for a different material. The cornstarch ones are a game changer for sure.

My last packing peanut knowledge was from a 1998 school project, so this feels like a very specific correction. I mean, I guess it's good to know my biodegradable snacks have a proper name now.

But what about the cost? Those cornstarch options are way more expensive for big jobs, and the green foam is cheap and reliable. Sometimes the old way is just the practical choice.
