My latest job showed me why floral foam has to go

After cleaning up from a wedding the other day, I saw piles of floral foam scraps everywhere. It hit me how bad this stuff is for the earth. That foam is just plastic with chemicals that soak into water and soil. I started using chicken wire and damp moss in my arrangements, and they hold flowers just fine. But when I bring this up to other florists, they say foam is cheap and fast. That feels like a weak excuse to me. We work with beautiful, natural things but add this ugly, harmful product. It's time we all find better ways to do our work without ruining the planet.

Honestly, why are we still using that junk when it's so bad for everything? Tbh the cheap and fast excuse is getting old when we know it hurts the environment. We really should do better.

Yeah, that stuff is complete garbage. My buddy tried it and said it was a total waste of money. He ended up throwing it out after just one use.
