Censored school board minutes arrived after three years of requests

I asked for these minutes in 2021 after hearing whispers about a hidden vote. The district kept saying they were missing or under review. They show a debate on pulling LGBTQ books from the library shelves. This never made it into the local news back then. Now I have the real story in writing. It's a tiny win, but pulling back the curtain feels pretty solid.

Absolutely massive win getting those pages after all that runaround. Scan everything and make backups right away, maybe even throw them on a public drive so others can find them. That slow-walk tactic with "under review" is classic. Filing a formal public records request next time forces a clearer paper trail if they try to stall again. Solid work pulling that curtain back.

Wow, three years is a long fight but so worth it to get that truth out there! It's scary to think how these decisions were almost hidden from everyone. @richard_hayes17 is right about making copies, because having proof in writing changes everything. This kind of open record is exactly what keeps things fair in our towns. Really glad you stuck with it and shared this!

Getting everything on paper was key for me too. I kept a simple log with dates and names of who I talked to. It made a huge difference when things got dragged out. What kind of records were you trying to get?
