Looking for more on the 1980s radio show that got shut down in Prague
I was reading about underground media in Eastern Europe and came across a mention of a pirate radio station called 'Radio Vltava' that operated in Prague for about six months in 1987. The host, a guy named Tomas Barta, would play banned music and read uncensored news until the secret police raided the apartment it broadcast from. I can't find much else about it in English. Has anyone here dug into this story or know where to look for the recordings?

Remember reading about that and feeling like a real detective until I realized my big find was just the same three paragraphs copied on different websites. Felt like I'd uncovered state secrets only to find the file was just someone's grocery list. The StB archives in Prague might have something, but good luck getting access without a university backing you. I heard a rumor that some audio clips got digitized by a Czech museum group a few years back. Maybe try searching for "Tomas Barta interview" instead of the radio name, sometimes that shakes loose a different set of results.

My friend's uncle smuggled a tape out.

Used to believe those stories were just made up, but hearing about a real tape getting out makes it hard to ignore. Makes you wonder what was on it, right? Changes how you see the whole thing.
