Heads up: Fake client invoices are hitting freelancers in my neighborhood

I almost paid a fake invoice that looked real from a new 'client'. Check with the real person before sending money, this scam is popping up a lot around here.

I once paid a real invoice to the wrong Sarah because I didn't double check. My accounting skills are clearly my best defense against scammers.

My old boss sent a $5000 wire to a vendor with "Limited" spelled wrong in the company name. The bank let it go through anyway and it took us WEEKS to get it back. I still have nightmares about that spreadsheet.
