Unpopular opinion: I think a good brush beats a sprayer for most detail work
I compared a $75 oxhair brush to my HVLP setup on a carved oak chair last month. The brush got into the crevices without runs, while the sprayer left a thin coat that needed a second pass. Do you think I'm just being old-fashioned?

My uncle used to restore old furniture and swore by a badger hair brush for trim. He said the sprayer just couldn't get the feel right on curved legs. Tbh, I still have that brush in my garage somewhere.

Yeah, some jobs just need the right brush.

Did he ever mention if the badger hair held up better with oil or water based stains?
