Appreciation post: my phone's battery life went from awful to okay after a weird fix

My phone (a Pixel 7) would die by 2 PM every day for months, but after I turned off 'Now Playing' and the always-on display last week, it's now making it to dinner time. I guess those background features were just constantly draining it, even though they seemed small. Has anyone else found one simple setting that made a big difference for their gadget?

Totally get this. I turned off background app refresh on my old phone and it was like getting a new battery. I mean, it went from needing a charger by lunch to actually lasting the whole day. Those little background things just chip away at it without you even noticing. Makes me wonder what else is secretly running.
