Nah, group chats don't have to be a constant noise machine. A good one finds a balance. My main friend chat is mostly quiet until someone has actual news or wants to make plans. It's not a 24/7 stream of memes and random thoughts. That just burns everyone out.

Seriously, mute the chat for a few hours. Or just leave it if it's that bad. I had to do that with my family's chat because it was just constant nonsense all day. You get your peace back.
