Just discovered a simple way to improve push-up form at home

I kept hurting my wrists doing push-ups on the floor. Placing my hands on two books elevated them slightly, which aligned my wrists better. No more pain and better range of motion.

That book trick is smart for wrist alignment. I did something similar using a pair of yoga blocks (which are basically fancy books, right?). Having my hands even a little bit higher totally fixed that sharp angle in my wrists. It made the whole movement feel way more natural.

Try a rolled towel, @mary_brown, to adjust height easily.

Aren't yoga blocks more stable than a stack of books? They don't slide around as much, @mary_brown.
