Noticing fewer billboards on my commute got me thinking
I drive the same route to work every day, and I've seen the number of billboards drop over the years. It seems like companies are putting more money into online ads instead of physical ones, which makes sense but feels different. Do you think outdoor advertising is still worth it for local businesses, or has digital taken over completely?

Feel the same way on my drive, it's weird how empty some stretches look now.

Honestly, what happens to a local place if they only advertise online and you're just driving through? Ngl, digital stuff is cheaper and you can track it, but it's easy to miss if you're not already looking for it. A billboard or a bus stop ad can still catch the eye of someone just going about their day. So I guess it's not completely dead for getting local folks, but the money has definitely moved.

Targeting locals online beats hoping drivers like grant.jason notice a billboard. Digital ads find people actually looking for what you sell.
