Remember when my local paper got yanked for a corruption story
It was 2018. I was sitting at the diner on Main Street in my little Colorado town. Flipping through the Gazette. There's this big article about the mayor and some shady land deals. Next day, whole paper's gone from the racks. Newsagent told me someone from city hall came by and grabbed every copy. Said it was 'inaccurate.' Real reason? It hit too close to home. I called the editor. He said they got a cease and desist threat that afternoon. Never saw that issue again. Has anyone else had a whole paper vanish like that?

That's assuming a lot about the editor's motives though. Maybe the story actually was wrong. Papers have gotten sued for less. The cease and desist might've been legit.

Small towns are the worst for that. The paper probably had to kill the whole run before they got sued into oblivion. Must've been a quiet deal with the mayor's lawyer.
