I laughed at aftermarket coolers until my PC started choking

I always thought the stock CPU cooler was enough for gaming. Then my frames dropped during a long session, and I found out my CPU was overheating. I learned that better cooling keeps performance steady and parts last longer. Now I tell friends to not skip on a decent cooler, lol. It was a cheap fix that helped a lot.

Took my PC choking to realize stock coolers are kinda useless, lol.

What temps were you hitting before it choked? I had the same thing happen, and a basic tower cooler made a big difference. Don't forget to reapply thermal paste when you swap it.

Same here, my CPU was overheating and slowing down all the time under heavy use. It got up to 95 degrees before it would shut off. I put in a cheap tower cooler and used new thermal paste, now it usually stays below 70. Idk, maybe it's just me but the change was huge. Stock coolers just don't handle much beyond simple stuff.
