If two contestants never have a private conversation shown, they're probably not as close as the edit wants you to think lmao.

SO true, the editors are basically puppeteers with our emotions. It's like they think we won't notice if they just show group shots all the time. The AUDACITY of it all is hilarious.

Caught an interview with a film editor last week. They said the goal is to 'guide' emotional responses, not just document. Specifically mentioned using wide shots to dilute tension, then cutting to close-ups for payoff. So when they default to group shots, it feels lazy, like they're not even trying to hide the strings. Read another piece where editors admitted to stockpiling generic reaction footage for later use. Audacity indeed.
