Tackled the canal path run today and the herons were vibing, small win but it made my morning.

Remember those geese by the old mill pond last fall? Total opposite energy. I'd be shuffling along and a whole group would just stand their ground, necks out like they're charging a rent check. One time a gosling got brave and waddled right onto the path, had to full stop. Makes you wonder what birds are plotting based on their location.

Wait, hold up, herons were just... vibing. I've run that path for years and those things are like paranoid statues, they bolt if you blink too loud. You must have some seriously chill bird energy going on. I'm lowkey jealous, I'd probably trip over my own feet staring at one just standing there casually.

Swear herons have a sixth sense for runners versus casual walkers. In my experience, they freeze up around anyone moving with purpose. Your chill energy probably reads as non threatening, like you're just part of the scenery. I'd probably spook them too, all clumsy and focused on not falling. Makes you wonder what they're thinking, standing there judging our cardio.
