Totally goofed by giving away the alien identity in 'Void Runners' mid-debate
My pals and I were arguing if the mysterious character was human or not, and I slipped up saying they were from Zeta Prime. Now the whole mystery is gone for our group. What do you do to make up for spoiling a key reveal in a sci-fi show?

Rewatching for clues is a solid idea... you could make it a whole thing where everyone lists the subtle hints the show dropped about Zeta Prime, like weird gestures or tech. Then argue over what those details mean for their culture, like if they avoid eye contact or have a different idea of time. It turns the big spoiler into a bunch of smaller puzzles to solve together.

That point about spoilers letting folks focus on how the story gets to the reveal really hits home. I once spoiled a big twist in "Starlight Echoes" by mentioning the clone plot too early, and my friends spent the rest of the night picking apart the bad special effects instead. It reminds me of what @sarahs94 said about rewatching for clues, but we just argued about why the spaceships looked so fake. Somehow that led to a whole talk about cheap sci-fi props from the 90s.

Oops, that's a classic move right there. Heard somewhere that spoilers sometimes let folks focus on how the story gets to the reveal, not just the shock. Maybe try talking about the clues you missed before knowing, like re-watching episodes for details. My friend did that after spoiling a twist, and their group got into predicting other plot points. Could turn the mess into a new game, guessing what Zeta Prime culture might be like in the show.
