Shoutout to the guy who told me backlinks from forums are worthless
I spent 6 months building links on Reddit and Quora threads, thinking I was doing SEO right. Then a dude in a Dallas meetup showed me his site jumped from page 5 to page 1 after ditching those and focusing on one guest post on a legit industry blog. I've seen real traffic since switching-has anyone else wasted time on forum links before realizing they're mostly noise?

Are forum links really the reason his site jumped, or was that guest post just that good to begin with? People love pointing fingers at one thing when there's usually a lot more going on behind the scenes.

Well now, I have to disagree a bit here. Forum links still have their place if you're adding real value to the conversation and not just dropping a link.

Wasted time on forum links' - yeah, I spent a whole year sprinkling links on gardening forums like some kind of SEO fairy, and my site still got buried. At least my tomato plants look good in the search results for 'how to grow weeds.'
