Wrote a letter to the editor and my local paper spiked it because of "tone"
Sent a piece about a zoning board decision that literally cleared the way for a developer to tear down a 100 year old building. The editor emailed me back saying my language was "too confrontational" and they'd run it if I softened it up. I rewrote it three times and they still killed it. Anyone else had a paper just straight up refuse to print something that wasn't libel?
