My local recycling center won't take old wind turbine blades, so where do they go?
I've been trying to dispose of a broken blade responsibly, but every facility turns me away. Are we just shifting the problem to landfills without a plan?

Yeah, Logan's point about pilot projects is fair, but I mean those are tiny compared to the scale of the problem. We're already dealing with thousands of blades coming down now, and idk if people get how big each one is. A lot are getting cut up for construction fill or used as fuel in cement kilns, which isn't exactly making park benches. It feels like the cool solutions we hear about are still way behind the actual disposal crunch.

Seriously? @miles312 mentioned landfills, but how many blades are we really talking about? They're fiberglass composite, which sucks to recycle, but I read about pilot projects turning them into park benches or building materials. Maybe the waste stream isn't as huge as people fear.
