Am I the only one who misses the hidden radio broadcasts from years ago?

When I was a kid, we would listen to radio shows that were illegal to broadcast. Now, with the internet, those same voices are everywhere online. It's good they can be heard, but I kind of miss the danger of it. Makes me think about how being silenced made their words more powerful.

Was it actually that risky back then? I mean, getting caught listening to a radio show doesn't seem like a big deal now. Maybe we just remember it as cooler because it was secret. Now everything's online, so the mystery is gone, but at least more folks can hear it. Kinda like how old stuff always seems better than it was.
