Drip irrigation vs sprinklers, one year of data says it all
I ran both on my 1.2 acre lot near the North Valley for a full year to settle it with my neighbor. The drip system on the flower beds used 3,410 gallons less than the sprinklers on the grass, same square footage, same schedule. The sprinklers look simpler but half the water evaporated or blew onto the sidewalk before soaking in. Has anyone else actually tracked their water usage side by side, or am I the only weirdo with a spreadsheet?

The spreadsheet is the only thing keeping the plants alive, honestly. My neighbor calls mine the "water bill binder of shame" but he's just jealous his lawn looks like a crispy waffle.
