Plastic pipe vs copper in ABQ hard water

I replaced my old copper water lines with PEX about two years ago. Cost me around $400 in materials for a 1,500 sq ft house. The copper was getting pinhole leaks from all that hard water we have in Albuquerque. I did the work myself over a weekend. So far not a single leak or issue. My neighbor did the same thing and he saved on his water bill too. Has anyone else here switched from copper to PEX and seen the same results?

Agree @beth_hart68, PEX saved my sanity no more leaks from that nasty hard water.

Holy crap, $400 for a whole house?! That's wild, I spent almost triple that just on copper for a similar size place here in Phoenix. I switched to PEX too after my copper pipes started looking like Swiss cheese from the hard water. It's been about a year and a half and I haven't had a single issue either. The peace of mind alone is worth it honestly, I was constantly patching leaks before.
