Solar panel production drop: cloudy month vs summer peak
I got panels installed on my house near the North Valley back in March 2023. In June that year, I was pulling around 900 kWh per month. But last December, that number dropped to just under 300 kWh. The shorter days and constant overcast really hit hard. Now I'm wondering if the savings are worth the upfront cost for folks who don't have great south-facing roofs. Has anyone else in ABQ seen a similar swing with their system?

Hows your roof pitch and angle compared to due south? In my experience that can make or break winter production just as much as the clouds can.

Yeah, the "roof pitch and angle" part is something people overlook way too often. I had a friend who went through a whole winter with almost nothing because his panels were barely tilted. It's frustrating when you think you did everything right and then the math just doesn't work out for months at a time.
