A painter in my shop said he never blocks a panel before primer, and it changed how I do my filler work
I was blocking out a quarter panel on a Camry last month and griping about how long it takes, when Ray, who has been spraying for 22 years, said he rough blocks with 80, primes, then does all his finish blocking on the primer instead of the filler. I tried it on the next three jobs and my sand scratches cut way down, plus I stopped chasing low spots twice. Does anyone else block after primer like that, or am I late to something everyone already knew?
