Had a fender fall off a car I fixed 8 months ago because I skimped on the weld

This was in Tulsa last spring, a 2014 Civic I did a quarter panel replacement on. Used the cheap flux core wire from the local parts store instead of the good stuff because I was trying to save $20. Customer came back yesterday showing me the rust line right along the weld seam. Had to do the whole job over for free. Has anyone else had a cost-cutting move blow up like this on a repair?

Buddy of mine used epoxy putty on a radiator hose and it split a week later.

Man that sucks, I learned the hard way on a truck frame repair that skimping on wire always comes back to bite you. @evan_dixon67 your buddy's story with the epoxy putty reminds me I've seen that trick fail more times than it works - better to just spring for the real hose clamp and a $5 belt.
