I had to choose between a used Car-O-Liner and a new off-brand frame machine. What would you pick?

Trust a used machine that's been beat on by who knows how many techs before you? No thanks, I'd rather have something new with a warranty and support line I can actually call. New off-brands have come a long way in the last few years, why gamble on a mystery machine?

Oh man, I gotta push back on that one. A used Car-O-Liner is still a Car-O-Liner, those things are built like tanks and last forever. The off-brand stuff might look shiny and new, but the quality just isn't there in my experience. You'll be fighting alignment issues and cheap parts breaking down way sooner than you think. Unless that used unit is completely trashed, I'd take the proven tool over the gamble any day of the week.
