I quit spraying primer over bare filler after 9 years and a guy half my age showed me why
Everyone in my shop swore by a thick primer coat to seal filler edges, but a new kid from the Phoenix trade school pointed out I was trapping solvent and getting those little shrink rings 6 months down the road. I tested it on a silver Camry bumper job last month and used a thin epoxy sealer first, no rings, no comebacks. Anyone else switch their filler prep order or am I the only one who had it backwards?
