I used to swear by cheap masking tape - until last Tuesday changed my mind

Had a 2018 Civic come through where the customer's previous shop used bargain tape and it left adhesive residue all along the window trim, took me 45 minutes with goo gone to clean it up. Now I spend the extra $12 a roll on 3M fine line and it pays for itself in time saved. Anybody else had a nightmare cleanup from cheap tape jobs?

3M blue tape is the only way to go now, saves so much hassle.

Stick with the 3M fine line too after learning that lesson the hard way. Not just the residue either - cheap tape bleeds through on crisp lines and you end up with fuzzy edges. I switched to the blue 3M stuff for masking and it saved me from redoing panels.
