My old Milwaukee cordless grinder gave out mid-quarter panel yesterday
I was blending a repair on a 2018 Silverado, and the motor just stopped and started smoking. I always thought those tools were bulletproof, but this one had about four years of daily use. I had to run to the local Harbor Freight for a cheap Chicago Electric to finish the job. Anyone have a favorite brushless grinder they've used for more than a couple years?

Bulletproof" is a strong word for any cordless tool getting daily shop use. Four years is actually a decent run for a motor spinning that hard all the time. Those things eat bearings and brushes for lunch. I've had better luck with corded grinders for the real heavy work, they just seem to last.

Eat bearings for lunch" is my new band name.

Agree with @river_scott on the band name, I'd go see that show. But I gotta push back a little on cordless grinders being that fragile. I've got a couple Makitas that have been through absolute hell for like 5-6 years now, mostly metal work and grinding on rusty truck frames. Still running fine on the original motors, just had to swap brushes once. Maybe I got lucky or maybe the brand matters more than people think with cordless stuff.
